could anyone tell me what the whole stinking war is about? Is it the usual thing...oil?
It's regional instability due to factional infighting amongst different religious and ethnic factions. Each group wants independence from the central government or more representation in the established government. They've basically have been treated like sh!t by their government before the civil war. Same thing in Iraq where Sunnis have been fighting the Shiites allowing ISIS to sweep into their country. Yemen, with about six different factions fighting for independence, is another example.
Those nations in the Middle East are artificial contrivances due to the borders not representing the different nationalities and ethnic groups within them. The only solution is to go in there by force and create independent, sovereign nations whose citizens won't be fighting and persecuting each other.

I miss Larsinger. He had more personality than the OP.
There was also this poster, whose name I forget, who would predict a half dozen dates for Armageddon. Each one he tagged with a percentage possibility of its happening. One date could have a 20% chance of being Armageddon and this other date... so on and so forth. That poster had more imagination than the whole Governing Body.

Apologists saying that the JWs shouldn't be banned, what the hell!??
by Crazyguy init's been brought to my attention that there are xjw that say they support the witnesses and don't think russia should ban them.
i would just like to remind all of you that jws are guilty of murder, causing higher rates of suicide, covering up child molestation, and keeping members in prisoned because if they leave they loose family, financial support, possible employment etc.. sure their not strapping bombs to their chests but they easily get members to kill themselves with their blood policies.
they are an extremist group!

I think we should keep in mind the motivations of the Russian government behind this ban.
They have banned private prayer groups - "house churches" - and have even criminalized e-mails that evangelize. They have bulldozed churches to the ground. All this is done for the official state religion of the Russian Orthodox Church who fears losing membership to protestants.
By supporting their treatment of JWs you support the rest of their actions which is basically religious persecution of anyone not accepted by the government.

And who gets to decide? Somebody has to make those decisions which are inherently dictatorial. Why not ban the Catholic Church or any other religion that irks us while we're at it?

Anything that the Russian Orthodox Church fears, such as losing members to proselytizing religions, becomes part of the criteria. Thus, Evangelical/Protestant churches are highly restricted or even banned.

Obviously, the writer did not know the stand that JWs take. No stand at all, absolutely neutral in political matters. Some confuse that for pacifism. I remember hearing from a brother that they were not pacifists because they were preaching about the greatest war on earth.
